SEO / GEO / AEO Independent Verification Audit

68
D+

Real entity, weak vehicle.

Brandon Tatum's off-site authority is top-decile. The website is a mediocre WordPress install leaking E-E-A-T through misattributed author schema, missing entity sameAs links, and a captcha bot-gate misconfig that may be serving noindex to crawlers. 3-8 hour fixes could move this to a real B+ in 60-90 days.

Client: The Officer Tatum (Brandon Tatum)
Domain: theofficertatum.com
Audit Date: June 5, 2026
Auditor: Sebastian ๐Ÿฆ€, Kaizen AI Lab
Method: Independent verification
Grading Scale: Corrected 10-pt U.S. academic

TL;DR

Composite: 68/100 โ†’ D+ (using the corrected scale where 67โ€“69 = D+, no rounding up).

Real entity, real authority, real traffic โ€” but a technically mediocre WordPress site that is leaking E-E-A-T signals and entity authority through:

The brand is doing the heavy lifting. The website is dragging.

Critical issues

CRIT1. Person/Author schema attributes the entire site to "Mybiz Mybiz"

This is the biggest finding. The Article schema on the homepage (and other Article-typed pages) has:

"author": {
  "name": "Mybiz Mybiz",
  "@id": "https://theofficertatum.com/author/mbnseo/"
}

That's the WordPress author profile of the SEO agency that built the site. The brand's entire on-site E-E-A-T attribution points at an agency staffer, not at the actual public figure Google/AI engines associate with the brand. For a personality-driven site this is a category error. There is no Person schema for Brandon Tatum himself โ€” no jobTitle, no sameAs to Wikipedia/Audible/Amazon/YouTube/Apple Podcasts, no knowsAbout, no author (book), no worksFor. This alone would knock 8-10 points off any honest AEO/E-E-A-T score.

CRIT2. SiteGround captcha challenge serves x-robots-tag: noindex

When the site is requested without a real-browser User-Agent, SiteGround's captcha challenge response carries x-robots-tag: noindex. Verified directly:

HTTP/2 202
sg-captcha: challenge
x-robots-tag: noindex
content-type: text/html

If Googlebot, GPTBot, ClaudeBot, or PerplexityBot get caught by that challenge (some hosts whitelist real Googlebot IPs but mangle other crawlers), the engines receive a literal noindex directive on the live URL. This is the kind of misconfig that explains stagnant rankings on a site that should be ranking better.

Action: verify in Google Search Console there are no crawl anomalies, and explicitly allowlist GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Amazonbot, Applebot in the SiteGround firewall.

CRIT3. Homepage and About page word counts are anemic

For a public-figure brand whose About page is the E-E-A-T anchor, sub-300 words is not enough to feed Google's entity model or AI overviews. Brandon's bio is meaningfully richer on Wikipedia, Audible, Goodreads, and Barnes & Noble than on his own homepage. Google extracts entity facts from whichever source has the densest, most structured copy โ€” right now that's Wikipedia, not theofficertatum.com.

WARN4. No sameAs linking to authority profiles

The Organization schema has no sameAs array. The site doesn't tell Google that theofficertatum.com is the same entity as the Wikipedia page, the Audible author, the Spotify podcast, the Apple Podcasts show, the YouTube channel, the LinkedIn profile, the Amazon author page, or even the sister-site theofficertatumstore.com. This is free authority being left on the table. Brandon is a Wikipedia-grade entity โ€” linking the on-site Organization/Person nodes to those external profiles is the single highest-ROI structured-data fix available.

WARN5. Two competing Organization schema blocks

There are two competing Organization JSON-LD blocks on the homepage:

Google will get confused about which is canonical. Pick one. Delete the other.

WARN6. Two WebSite schema blocks with conflicting SearchAction targets

Sitelinks search box won't appear with conflicting SearchActions.

WARN7. Article schema dates suggest stale content

The home page is typed as Article with:

The August 2025 modified date with no content changes since suggests the site hasn't been meaningfully updated in 10 months. AI engines weight recency for active personalities. Also: a homepage probably shouldn't be typed as Article at all โ€” WebPage or CollectionPage is more accurate.

WARN8. No Book, PodcastSeries, VideoObject, Event, or FAQPage schema

A site whose primary products are a radio show, podcast, book, and speaking engagements is missing the five most important structured-data types for those products:

All of this would help AEO directly.

WARN9. Page weight + JS-heavy Elementor + NitroPack

Without a real PageSpeed/Lighthouse run I'm not formally grading CWV โ€” the surface signals say "average WordPress, not optimized." A full PSI run should be the next data-collection step.

WARN10. Booking and Watch pages captured by Wayback at ~55KB โ€” likely captcha-stub captures

When the Wayback Machine crawled the site, several pages came back at fragmentary sizes (Booking 55KB, Watch 56KB, Videos 57KB) versus Home (398KB) and About (260KB) โ€” strongly suggesting the crawler hit the captcha wall on those URLs. If Wayback gets gated, other bots probably do too. Reinforces Issue #2.

What to tell the client

"Brandon, you have one of the strongest personal authority signals of any conservative-media personality on the internet โ€” Wikipedia, a Simon & Schuster-distributed book, national radio syndication, and a podcast on every major platform. The website is leaving most of that on the table. Your About page is thinner than your Audible bio. Your Article schema is attributing your content to your SEO agency instead of to you. Your Organization schema doesn't tell Google that you, Brandon Tatum the Wikipedia entity, are the same person who owns this domain. You probably also have a SiteGround bot-protection misconfig that's serving 'noindex' to some crawlers. None of this requires a redesign โ€” these are 3-8 hour fixes that should move the needle significantly. Right now we'd score this site a D+; with the fixes I'd expect it to reach a B+ within 60-90 days of recrawl, on the strength of your existing entity authority alone."

Priority fix list (in order of impact)

  1. Replace the "Mybiz Mybiz" Person schema with a real Brandon Tatum Person schema โ€” name, jobTitle, description, image, url, sameAs (Wikipedia, Audible, Amazon author page, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, Goodreads, B&N), knowsAbout, author (Book schema for Beaten Black and Blue), worksFor, optional birthDate/birthPlace if Wikipedia has them.
  2. Add sameAs to the Organization schema linking to the same authority cluster.
  3. Audit SiteGround bot-protection to allowlist Googlebot, Bingbot, GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Amazonbot, Applebot. Verify via Google Search Console crawl stats.
  4. Add Book schema for Beaten Black and Blue (ISBN 9781642938517, publisher, datePublished, image, offers to Amazon/B&N/Audible).
  5. Add PodcastSeries schema with sameAs to all podcast platforms.
  6. Add VideoObject schema on Watch/Videos pages (thumbnailUrl, uploadDate, duration, contentUrl/embedUrl).
  7. Add Event schema for upcoming speaking engagements on the Booking page.
  8. Deduplicate the conflicting Organization and WebSite JSON-LD blocks.
  9. Rewrite About to 800-1200 words with real bio depth, awards, media appearances, speaking topics, and entity facts that Wikipedia already validates.
  10. Add FAQPage schema on the Booking page (speaking fee range, travel, lead time, topics, format).

A note on scoring discipline

This audit follows the corrected 10-point U.S. academic grading scale: the letter grade is derived directly from the numerical score, with no rounding up. A site with misattributed author schema and a noindex-on-challenge risk cannot honestly score above the C+/B- range regardless of entity strength โ€” the audit is scoring the site, not the person. Entity authority belongs as its own line item (weighted 13/15 here โ€” the highest score on this rubric, where it belongs).

Method & limits. Live site responses to the audit IPs were blocked by a SiteGround captcha challenge. Schema and content analysis was performed against raw HTML captures from the Wayback Machine (most recent snapshots: 2026-05-27 for the homepage, 2025-08โ€“2026-01 for inner pages), cross-checked against live search indexation (Brave) and third-party citations (Wikipedia, Amazon, Audible, Barnes & Noble, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podbean, TuneIn, Listen Notes). Core Web Vitals are unverified pending a live PSI / Lighthouse run. WHOIS, indexation, and entity verification are all current as of 2026-06-05.
